Flamingo Reserve

The best time to visit Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary is during the winter months between October and March. Winter is when over 30,000 birds coming from West Asian and African countries make this sanctuary their home. Also, it is the season when pink flamingos occupy a special place in this beautiful land.

Like humans, Flamingos make friends for life, they avoid animals they dislike which is strategy that may boost their survival. Flamingos maintain selectively stable friendships, mainly characterized by standing close together. It’s possible these bonds could last decades; flamingos can live 50 years.
