Beit El Baraka: A lifeline in Lebanon's crisis

In the midst of Lebanon’s multifaceted crises, Beit Al Baraka has emerged as a sanctuary of support, dignity, and hope for countless Lebanese citizens. Founded in 2018 by Maya Ibrahimchah, this non-profit organization has been dedicated to providing essential services to the most vulnerable segments of society, particularly the elderly and children.

Beit Al Baraka’s mission is to ensure that every Lebanese citizen can live with dignity, regardless of their financial situation. The organization focuses on four main pillars: providing healthy food, ensuring decent living conditions, offering medical services, and supporting education. Their vision is a Lebanon where every individual has access to basic human rights and can live without fear of hunger or deprivation.

Since its inception, Beit Al Baraka has made remarkable strides in supporting Lebanon’s most vulnerable populations. The organization operates a free supermarket in Achrafieh, where those in need can shop for groceries with dignity, choosing what they need rather than receiving pre-packaged aid. This model not only addresses food insecurity but also restores a sense of normalcy and respect to the beneficiaries.

In response to the devastating Beirut port explosion in August 2020, Beit Al Baraka launched an emergency relief center and a home rehabilitation program. This initiative aimed to repair homes damaged by the blast, ensuring that families could return to safe and secure living conditions. The organization mobilized volunteers and secured donations to refurbish window frames, facades, and other critical infrastructure, preserving the traditional charm and urban aesthetics of Beirut’s neighborhoods.

Amidst the ongoing conflict in Lebanon, Beit Al Baraka has intensified its efforts to provide critical support to those affected. The organization is working tirelessly to distribute food, medical supplies, and other essential items to families displaced by the violence. By collaborating with local and international partners, Beit Al Baraka ensures that aid reaches the most vulnerable communities, offering a lifeline to thousands during these turbulent times.

Rotana Hotels Lebanon successfully collected donations for Beit El Baraka, including 932 essential food items (sugar, flour, meat, lentils, spaghetti, sodas, …), 561 hygienic products items (shampoo, toothpaste, diapers, wet wipes, woman pads, …), 17 home necessities items (mattress, blankets, towels, pillows, …) as well as 211 toys for kids and clothes.
