Lebanon, a small yet historically rich country on the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea, is known for its vibrant culture, diverse population, and stunning landscapes. However, the ongoing war has profoundly affected its citizens, resulting in significant loss of life, widespread destruction of infrastructure, and the displacement of numerous communities.
Many families have been forced to flee their homes, seeking refuge in overcrowded shelters or with relatives. The constant threat of violence has disrupted daily life, making it difficult for people to access essential services such as food, water, and medical care.
In response to these challenges, numerous NGOs are doing the impossible to help the citizens of Lebanon, working tirelessly to provide emergency relief, medical support, food assistance, mental health services, and more.
Beit El Baraka

Lebanese Food Bank
The Lebanese Food Bank (LFB) is a non- profit organization founded by the late Mr. Kamal Sinno dedicated to combating hunger across Lebanon. Driven by a vision of a hunger-free Lebanon, LFB works tirelessly to collect surplus food from various sources, including restaurants, supermarkets and farms to redistribute it to families in need.
Lebanese Food Bank’s goal doesn’t end there, as it extends beyond food distribution. The organization also runs awareness programs aimed at educating communities about the importance of food security and waste reduction.
During the tough Covid-19 pandemic period, the Lebanese Food Bank (LFB) teamed up with Beit El Baraka and SEAL USA in order to distribute over 42,874 food boxes across districts, with the help and support of the Lebanese Armed Forces and 110 NGOs.
Then came the catastrophic explosion at the port of Beirut on August 4, 2020, which claimed the lives of more than 220 people. In response to this tragedy, the LFB team, alongside a group of dedicated volunteers, sprang into action. They set up four booths in 4 different areas to provide immediate food relief.
Rotana Hotels Lebanon also supported the cause by ensuring 100 cover cooking food to the Lebanese Food Bank on a daily basis, and to date, they have provided 3,500 meals.
To make a lasting impact on those struggling with food insecurity in Lebanon, think about supporting the Lebanese Food Bank. Your donations can offer essential nourishment and support to the most vulnerable, helping to build a future free from hunger.
